Tammy Dekel

Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Sanitas Peak Advisory, LLC

With over 30 years of experience in strategic and business consulting, corporate finance, international sales, Tammy’s background is broad, and has spanned across an array of industries from publishing to investment banking, and now industrial hemp.  The common thread in her career is her ability to blend a fresh perspective with pragmatic solutions (she has affection for the KIS rule - “keep it simple”).

Prior to Sanitas Peak, Tammy was the COO and Co-Owner of Lullubee, a start-up in the emerging children’s   arts & crafts space - where she built a  cost-effective supply-chain for products that were produced in-house or outsourced for the nation’s largest retailers (Target, Toys“R”Us, Walmart, Indigo, and Amazon) and small independently owned stores.

In contrast to this work with a start-up, Tammy oversaw international sales and marketing for Elite Industries,  a billion-dollar global packaged foods company headquartered in Israel. Initially hired in a final attempt to retain the Company’s most coveted export client, Tammy not only turned the relationship around but  grew annual sales from $200k to $5 million by creating an internal product development program. Ultimately, Tammy was given P&L responsibility over the international sales department as a whole, including four sales offices across Europe and the United States.

Moving back to the USA, Tammy spent six years in investment banking, at Focus Investment Banking and Indian River Advisors, working on buy and sell side engagement for mid-market firms. She also had her own consulting practice, working with companies such as the Rodale Institute, Spacenet, Politemps, CapitolWorks and more.

Tammy began her post business school career as Director of Financial Operations for a telecom start-up, Syntellisys Network, Inc. where she was responsible for financial operations and contributed to capital formation.  She quickly realized that the discipline of a large organization would be valuable, and she joined the Los Angeles Times when it was the largest daily metropolitan newspaper in the USA. As a financial analyst, Tammy was able to provide consultative advice to this media giant.  She both recommended the closing of a flawed business unit that was shuttered as a result, and successfully advocated for increases in spending on a major marketing program. By demonstrating that the cost of this program was 65% LESS than previously accounted for, Tammy was able to convince a skeptical executive team to release additional funding.

Prior to her MBA, Tammy served as an officer in the Israeli army, and then worked as a computer programmer for Cooper’s & Lybrand in Papua New Guinea, developing software for the Investment Corporation of Papua New Guinea.

Born in Israel, Tammy was raised in Ghana, Mexico, the Philippines, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the United States, and Israel. Tammy received a BA in Economics from Whittier College and an MBA in Finance, Marketing, and International Business from Columbia University.
